Anew face will join the Pioneers Basketball Club for the 2025 NBL1 South conference season – with Jayda Jansen signing on.
The talented guard will be an exciting addition to the OneFortyOne Pioneers as she looks forward to the opportunity of again competing in the NBL1 South conference.
Jansen, originally from Canada, played the 2024 season NBL1 South season with the Hobart Chargers, where she averaged 18.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game across 17 appearances.
She shot 41.8% from two-point range, 36.0% from beyond the arc, and 90.6% from the free-throw line.
Head Coach Matt Sutton is excited to welcome Jansen to the squad, highlighting her strengths and the impact she will bring to the team.
“Jayda is an extremely tough combo guard that had a great season in the league last year,” Sutton said.
“Her ability to make her teammates better as well as create opportunities for herself will be very important for our team.”
Sutton said before joining the NBL1 competition, Jansen had an impressive collegiate career in the NCAA and is currently competing in Germany.
“We look forward to having Jayda join us once her current season in Germany finishes,” he said.
The OneFortyOne Pioneers will hit the court in late March, with preseason games and tournaments set to be announced soon in and around the Limestone Coast.
