Kindergarten children dig new play area

Millicent youngsters are digging in to their new sandpit, which has been officially opened.

Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll was called in to officially cut a paper chain ribbon made by McArthur Park Kindergarten students to open the new sandpit.

Past and present staff and students attended along with Newberry Park Staff and kindy parents.

The kindy children performed a welcome to country using sign language before the opening.

The project has been ongoing since 2017 when the kindergarten developed a master plan for the kindy yard.

Along with much fundraising by the kindy governing council over the years, the new area also received grants from the Wattle Range Council, Infigen and Kimberly-Clark Australia to facilitate the projects.

The new area was then built over several years in stages.
