Kreme of the crop

The new Krispy Kreme and On The Run stores in Mount Gambier East officially opened their doors to customers on Saturday.

As part of the promotion surrounding the opening, the first person through the doors won a year’s worth of free doughnuts, with the first campers arriving last Thursday to start lining up.

Krispy Kreme also gave away thousands of doughnuts to those who visited during the opening day celebrations.

There were games and giveaways including entertainment with a spinning wheel where people won Krispy Kreme prizes and merchandise.

The first 100 people in the line were also given a Krispy Kreme opening T Shirt.

A special ‘Blue Lake’ commemorative doughnut was created and sold to those attending.

The Mount Gambier East Krispy Kreme is the first regional Australian ‘Hot Light’ factory store and is open 24/7, as is the adjacent OTR outlet.

Local contractors were involved with the development which cost approximately $8m to build.

Krispy Kreme has employed 20 local staff and OTR will employ over 30 local team members and managers.
