Krymzon Academy victorious at state championships

It has been a successful year for the Krymzon Academy of Calisthenics after competing at the CASA State Championships in Adelaide, with their Juniors the Division 4 Aggregate winners and their Inters the Division 3 Reserve Aggregate winners.

Juniors Coach Jenae Fox said she was proud of the juniors team and it was rewarding to see their hard work pay off.

“It was a very proud moment to see how far they have come from the start of the year to their performance,” she said.

“It was really exciting.”

Miss Fox worked together with co-coach Tanika Giddings to lead the team to victory.

“We train two and a half hours every week and to see their hard work pay off on competition day, it’s such a fun vibe,” Miss Fox said.

“All the kids, they’re so excited the whole day.”

Both Junior and Inter teams performed six routines including march, clubs, freearm, rods, aesthetic and dance arrangement.

Inters Coach Simone Phelan said she was proud of the Inters team and coming home with the Reserve Aggregate was the cherry on top.

“They have worked really hard and they have really bonded together,” Miss Phelan said.

“They worked well as a team and were super appreciative of each other and the opportunity to perform.”

Miss Fox and Miss Phelan said the pair was fortunate and grateful to compete again after competitions were cancelled due to COVID restrictions.

“There’s a lot of teams around Australia that have not been able to get on stage after working so hard,” Miss Phelan said.

“It felt good to be there and have the opportunity to put our hard work on the stage and show what we have been working on.”

The Krymzon Academy of Calisthenics End Of Year Concert is approaching on November 13 at the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre.
