The Penola Football Club was a picture elegance as it hosted its much anticipated Ladies Day recently.
The annual event, dedicated to raising funds for cancer support in the community, attracted an enthusiastic turnout of around 75 women.
The footy club was transformed into a cocktail lounge with fairy lights, tables decorated with fresh flowers, a private cocktail bar and live music creating a fun and upbeat atmosphere for the ladies to let their hair down.
The event’s organisers had spared no effort in ensuring that every detail was perfect.
A highlight of the event was a heartfelt speech by Penola Netball Club President Sophie Schulz who had been directly impacted by cancer. Her words brought a moment of reflection and highlighted the importance of the cause.
The event raised around $3300 which will go directly to the support of services and cancer treatment to people in the local community through the Millicent Cancer Support Group which has been raising funds for supporting local hospitals, accommodation in Adelaide and cancer research since 1986.
Funds raised during Ladies Day will go a long way towards helping families in need.
The ladies praised the significance of the event on the social calendar and cannot wait to do it all again next year.
