Lake funds talk

The case for Federal Government grants for an $8m re-build of the Millicent Swimming Lake was put to a senior politician last week.

Shadow Regional Development Minister Bridget McKenzie visited the region ast week and Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll had a scheduled face-to-face meet.

Mayor Noll told the July monthly council meeting he planned to inform the Victorian Nationals senator of the need for financial assistance from Canberra for the 55-year-old lake.

He said the senator could have a local impact if there was to be a change of government at the next Federal election due within a year.
