Lego blockbuster

This year’s Empak Homes BrickGambier was a blockbuster event, attracting around 2000 people to the Mount Gambier showgrounds over the long weekend.

Empak Homes BrickGambier 2022 organiser Emma Robinson said the event was well attended with visitors travelling from far and wide to view the 60 Lego displays.

“The exhibitors had a great time and most of them are keen to come back next year with something new to display,” she said.

“It was great to have the kids play area back this year, allowing kids time to build and interact with Lego.

“Next year we are hoping to increase our amount of interactive displays.

“We really appreciate all our sponsors because this event would not be possible without them.”

A diverse range of eye-catching exhibits were on display including train sets, small dioramas, a Lego alphabet, miniature layouts which were maps of Adelaide and Sydney and a yellow castle made in three different size scales.

A ‘Baby Yoda’ mosaic made by a local Year 6 student was one of 10 local exhibits.

For the first time local exhibitor Andrew Crouch won both the exhibitor’s first place and the people’s choice award with his Legoland Classic Space display.
