Millicent recently hosted two politicians from Mount Gambier at the annual general meetings of the town’s sole political party.
The annual general meeting of the Millicent branch of the Liberal Party was held at the Grand Hotel on Monday night as well as the yearly forum of the Rendelsham branch of the same party.
The speakers were Liberal MLC Ben Hood and Liberal Member for Barker Tony Pasin.
Mr Hood filled a casual vacancy in the Legislative Council just over a year ago.
He is the party’s spokesman on issues relating to the local MacKillop electorate following the decision of incumbent Nick McBride to quit the Liberal Party and become an Independent.
First elected in 2013, Mr Pasin has secured Liberal Party preselection in his bid for a fifth term in the House of Representatives.
Among the items of business at the recent meetings were preparations for the Federal election to be held in the coming year as well as repairs to the road network in the South East.
