With around 65-odd nominations for the 2023 Kings Challenge on Thursday night, the local South East sprintcar stars will be eager to put on an action-packed display of racing in front of their home crowd and supporters at Borderline Speedway.
Two-time Classic Champion Steven Lines returns aboard the Horrell Motorsport #83 entry and has been on the pace in the past few weeks after a season on the sidelines.
The crowd favourite ‘Linesy’ will be keen to repeat his Kings Challenge win back in 2018, while fellow local entry Glen Sutherland is enjoying his best season to date including a great seventh place at Avalon on Speedweek.
With crew chief Brad Lepe behind the spanners – ‘Glen 20” will be one to watch and could surprise with a strong result on his home track, so keep a close eye on the immaculate Gambier Earth Movers #20 entry.
Scott Enderl has had a busy season to this point starting back in Darwin in August and – with a new transporter – Scott has shown vast improvement including a podium at Murray Bridge back in October.
He has also competed in several round of the 360 Allstars Series as well as Speedweek in the 410.
The well-presented Clarend Transport #11 will enjoy being back home on the Borderline clay.
SP Racing returns to Mount Gambier with Daniel Pestka behind the wheel, entering their third season and looking for a strong result for the Port MacDonnell based outfit.
The reigning Eureka Garages and Sheds champion is coming off a season-best fourth placing at Avalon Raceway back on January 14.
The team will be looking for big things and Pestka generally goes very well here on the Mount Gambier clay way and has plenty of fans who will be cheering him on.
