A depleted field of 48 players visited Millicent on a perfect day for South East Veterans Golf.
But as normal, the locals shone in both divisions.
Mick Pedler took out first Division with 37 points.
Pedler held off the chasing pack of Tony McGregor two points back and Ken McIntyre on 34.
Second Division honours were won by Alan Webster with an amazing round of 42 points.
He clipped the overhead wire on the par three 17th and replayed the shot onto the green before he sunk the putt.
He apparently had many one putt greens, according to his partners.
The nearest the pins were hit by Grant Rowe and Max Clifford and the Ross Orchard trophy went to Frank Cronin and Wayne Peters, while Brian Foreman snaffled the Scotch.
After next week’s annual Getaway to the Barossa, SE Veterans Golf will resume at Bordertown on Monday, April 11.
After a break for Anzac Day, Beachport is next before players go off into Victoria for two Challenge matches.
