‘Machine gun’ preacher delivers humanitarian message

The so-called “Machine Gun Preacher” called at the Mount Gambier Prison during his recent whistlestop time on the Limestone Coast.

Sam Childers also addressed a large gathering at the Jubilee Christian Centre in Mount Gambier, visited two radio studios and led a men’s breakfast at a private property at Rendelsham.

The American biker turned humanitarian is a late in life convert to Christianity and active in war-torn parts of Africa.

Millicent Community Church minister Shaun Mulick said it was a privilege and pleasure to host Mr Childers.

“A special thank you to the Jubilee Christian Centre and the Millicent Baptist Church for Millicent helping us coordinate logistics,” Pastor Shaun said.

“Thank you to the Mount Gambier and Millicent Salvation Army for helping us visit the prison and the wonderful staff at G4S for accommodating us.

“If there’s only one thing that we remember from Sam’s visit, it was his kindness and the encouragement to remember that mission starts at home.”
