The long-awaited metal workshop of the Millicent Men’s Shed is finally up and running after two years of building and outfitting.
The official opening of the metal workshop was recently held in the presence of politicians Tony Pasin and Nick McBride and representatives of all the organisations who have helped along the way including the Department for Veteran Affairs.
Mr Pasin has strongly backed the Millicent Men’s Shed over the past decade.
“It is unique in the organisation has partnered with the Millicent RSL Sub-Branch to ensure returned service personnel continue to play an active role in their community and the experience companionship and camaraderie that Men’s Sheds are known for,” Mr Pasin said.
“I commend the Millicent Men’s Shed and the Millicent RSL sub-branch for the initiative that is helping make Millicent an even stronger community.
“The new metal workshop adds to the already attractive offering at the shed and I’m so pleased to see this area completed thanks to the financial support provided by the former Coalition Government in 2022.”
Any men who have been waiting for this new facility to get going are now invited to come and inspect it and see if they would like to join the Millicent Men’s Shed and make use of the metal workshop.
The shed is open Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday each week, from 10am to 2pm, in Fifth Street, Millicent.
