The Limestone Coast is well represented in the AFL with plenty of home-grown players starring on the national stage.
The SE Voice’s sports journo Will Boston takes a look at how our locals fared in Round 17.
Mason Redman
Mason Redman had a solid game on Friday night againstv the Pies, finishing with 19 disposals, six marks and 17 kicks in the big win.
With the footy Redman was smart as he had a 89.5% disposal efficiency.
As Red Dog and the Bombers continue to have a great season they currently sit fourth on the ladder as they take on the Dees on Saturday night at the G.
Toby Pink
Toby Pink and the Roos picked up their second win of the season as they took down the Suns.
Pink did not have a big game but still had some nice moments, finishing with four disposals, one mark and a goal in the win.
Pink used the ball well with the limited touches as he had a 100% disposal efficiency while also being involved in two scores.
This week the Roos have a tough match as they take on the Swans at the SCG.
Jeremy Cameron
Jeremy Cameron had a big game on Saturday afternoon as the Cats took on the Hawks.
Cameron had 19 disposals, eight marks and four goals in the win.
Although Jezza had four goals he still struggled a bit as he had nine shots at goal with four behinds as well.
Cameron was heavily involved in the forward line as he had a goal assist, 13 score involvements and three score launches.
Cameron was a major target in the forward line as he had six marks inside 50 as well as two marks on a lead.
Tomorrow night the Cats have a tough game as they face the Pies at the G.
Brad Close
Brad Close had a pretty solid game against the Hawks, with 14 disposals, two marks, two tackles and a tied career high four goals in the win.
Once again Close was great at getting involved in the team’s scoring as he had a goal assist, seven score involvements and two score launches.
Close was solid at stoppages as he had two clearances from stoppages.
Tomorrow night Close has a tough task against the Pies at the G.
Tom McDonald
Tom McDonald had one of his best games of the season on Sunday against the Eagles.
McDonald had 22 disposals and seven marks in the Dees win.
McDonald’s aerial defence was elite in this game as he had six spoils and three intercept marks in the game.
Once again McDonald did well at setting up scores for teammates as he had eight score involvements and three score launches.
The Dees have got a tough game this weekend as they take on the Bombers on Saturday night.
Rowan Marshall
Rowan Marshall had a big win on a big day for the Saints as they took down the Swans.
Marshall had 16 disposals, seven marks, five tackles, 20 hit outs and two goals in the win.
Marshall was once again great in marking contests as he had two contested marks and an intercept mark.
The Saints will be in store for another great game as they travel to SA to take on the Crows on Saturday night.
Lachie Neale
Lachie Neale had another huge game on Sunday afternoon as the Lions took on the Crows at home.
Neale had 36 disposals, nine marks, 10 clearances and a season high three goals in the win.
Out of his nine marks, two of them were intercept marks while also having a contested mark.
This week Neale and the Lions head West as they look to add to their winning streak as they take on the Eagles on Sunday.
Jordan Dawson
Jordan Dawson did not have the best game against the Lions on Sunday.
Dawson finished with 16 disposals, three marks and four tackles in the tough loss.
Dawson still did well at setting up scores for his team as he had four score involvements and a score launch as well as three rebound 50s.
The Crows will be back home this Saturday night as they take on the Saints

Mitch Hinge
Mitch Hinge had a bit of a quiet game on Sunday against the Lions.
Hinge had 12 disposals, two marks and a career high six tackles.
Overall in defence Hinge was solid as he had a season high six spoils and down the other end he was involved in three scores for the Crows.
As Hinge continues to have a career year he will need to be at his best on Saturday night against the Saints.
Darcy Fogarty
Darcy Fogarty had a solid game against the Lions on Sunday.
Fogarty’s 2+ goal streak continued on the weekend as he kicked two goals as well as having 10 disposals and five marks.
As well as the goals the Fog had a goal assist, six score involvements and a score launch too.
In the marking contests Fogarty was very good as he had two contested marks with both being inside 50.
