Mil Lel v South Gambier
Mil Lel secured a big win to help their Barber Shield finals chances as they defeated South Gambier at Frew Park on Saturday.
Mil Lel picked up where they left off with Will Rowland and Vaibhaz Patel at the crease.
Rowland did well to put some runs on the board as his innings finished with 38 runs while Patel was not as dangerous, scoring four off 44.
Down the list Mil Lel picked up a few more solid scores as Jack Miller made 10 while Ty Dinnison put 12 on the board.
At the back end of the innings Mil Lel added a few more runs as Boyd Millhouse had a great innings, making 41 while Oliver McCracken chipped in with 13.
After 63 overs the Dees finally got Mil Lel all out for 175.
South’s Robbie Drenthen starred with the ball, taking five wickets.
With the Dees back at the crease they started well as opener Sam Bradbrook made 30 while fellow opener Sukhbir Singh registered 18.
Down the order Adam Kuhl made 24 off 34 while Jed Sims had a great day at the crease as he scored 27.
Despite the solid performances from the Dees it was not enough to secure the win as they came up short.
After this win Mil Lel are now in a great position to make a finals performance as they are now 11.3 points ahead of fifth placed East Gambier.

Penola v North Sportsmans
Penola were able to hold off a tough opponent in North Sportsmans as the Eagles scored a big win on their home deck.
The Tigers started day two at the crease with a run total of 148 to chase down.
North struggled early on with Alex Hutton only able to make four while fellow opener Brad Robinson scored nine.
North skipper Mitch Lewis did well to keep the side in the game with a big innings, making 42.
In the middle of the order North had a tough dismissal as Elliott Fisher was out for a golden duck.
However, the Tigers kept fighting back as Nick McInerney dug in, making 17 off 72.
North were able to get a few more runs on the board towards the bottom of the innings as Scott Kenny made 21 while Tim Young put 11 on the board.
The Tigers ended their innings with 119 runs.
Penola’s Michael Waters and Jack Mullan both had great innings with the ball, taking three wickets each.
The Eagles went back into bat for the last part of the day and finished strong to help seal the win with Drew Clayfield making 11 while Jack Mullan scored eight.
After this loss the Tigers have now lost the top spot on the ladder, slipping to second.

East Gambier v West Gambier
West Gambier came up with a big win on Saturday to leapfrog into top spot while the Doggies’ finals hopes lessened.
Ben Hentschke and Emerson Marks started day two at the crease, with Hentschke scoring 36 while Mark contributed 12.
The Doggies were able to get solid contributors across the order with Connor Little putting 10 on the board while captain Alex Hentschke added 17.
East’s tail wagged, as Marc Roberts made 19 off 30 while Evan Clark scored 11.
The Doggies were able to score 134 before getting all out in 68 overs.
Justin de Jong and Sam Willis were both great for the Roos as Willis took three wickets while de Jong had four.
The Roos headed back to the crease as they looked to seal the victory.
After a big performance with the ball, Justin de Jong doubled down with the bat, scoring 81 off 57.
Nuwan Gunawardana was a solid contributor, making 55 which helped seal the win as the Roos made 154.
This win puts the Roos into first place on the ladder while the Doggies’ chances of making the finals now appear slim.
