Millicent bowls club opens triples championship

In cold, windy conditions, 24 ladies fought for the Millicent Bowls Club Triples Championship on Sunday.

Eight teams of triples played 15 ends of two bowl triples.

In the preliminary final Sarah Ross, Andrea Radley and Elaine Goode took on Jan Buhlmann, Faye Hill and Judy Lowe.

Buhlmann, Hill and Lowe won by only two shots at the end of the game taking them into the grand final.

In the other Preliminary Final Del Parsons, Mary Clifford and Adriana Ross, faced Lyn Scudds, Mary Campbell and Carlene Godden.

Once again, a close game was contested also with the latter team coming out winners by six shots taking them into the decider.

The grand final was played over 18 ends and by the seventh Scudds’s team was up by 10 shots.

However, Buhlmann’s side started to fight back and by the 17th end the Scudds side was up by only three shots.

They then went on to win the last end and become Triples Champions for season 2021/22.

The men’s grand final is yet to be played.
