Millicent builder Garry Davis will swap his usual work togs for a lounge suit when he visits Government House in Adelaide later this month.

Mr Davis was awarded an OAM in the 2022 Australia Day Honours.

His citation states his OAM in the General Division was awarded for service to the community through a range of roles.

The Governor of South Australia Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson will present him with the medal at a vice-regal reception.

A particular passion for Mr Davis has been the Lions service club organisation and he has held senior leadership roles at district level and with the Millicent club.

He said the investiture ceremony on North Terrace could only be attended by three of his guests.

“I will be taking my wife Jeniene and two of our four children: Scott from Darwin and Marty from Millicent,” Mr Davis said.
