Upbeat messages about the future economic prospects of Millicent and district were heard when a prominent local business recently hosted its annual Christmas party for clients.
South East Property Sales and Management proprietor Fiona Telfer welcomed 60 guests to the Mad Penguin Restaurant in Millicent.
She was assisted in her hosting duties by her seven staff and her husband Stephen Telfer.
In her speech, Ms Telfer pointed to the strong real estate market and the significant number of new businesses in Millicent.
Similar points were made by Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll and Millicent Business Community Association chairman Lee Morgan.
The fourth speaker was Suzanne Varcoe who explained the new weekly free food initiative for the needy called Millicent Shares a Plate.
