Millicent heads across border to face Casterton team on the rise

The Saints will head across the border this week as they take on the Cats in Casterton.

These sides have played twice this year with the Saints winning both games, however the second time round was much more competitive.

Both sides are coming off solid wins last week where they played quite well in the rain as they were the two highest scorers in the round.

This will definitely be Millicent’s game to lose as they have been on a tear all season, with their only loss coming in round 4 with only one point separating them and the Dees.

The Cats have been playing well over the past few weeks after starting the season a bit slow.

This should be a close contest as the Cats continue to fight for wins in the battle for a top four position on the ladder.

South Gambier v East Gambier

The Doggies will head to Blue Lake Sports Park to take on the Dees on Saturday.

Both sides are coming off tough losses last week and will be looking to get back on track as East looks to pick up their first win while the Dees aim for a percentage boosting win as the Dees, Roos and Tigers all currently sit on 24 points.

The Dees have taken care of the Doggies in the sides’ last two matchups this season and they will be looking to continue that form.

South has been in a bit of a rough patch over the past few weeks, losing three games in the last four weeks and they will be looking at this game as a way of getting things back on track.

The Doggies have been having a rather ordinary year so far as they have gone 0-10 to date.

Over the past couple of weeks they have been playing some competitive footy but have struggled to bring it all together and play a complete game.

This will be a game that South cannot afford to lose given how competitive the top four is as we begin to enter the business end of the season.

West Gambier v North Gambier

The Tigers will head to Malseed Park this Saturday to take on West Gambier.

So far the season series has been split with the Roos winning in the first meeting and the Tigers getting their revenge in round 6.

The Tigers are coming off a tough loss to the Saints last round whereas the Roos picked up a good win over East.

Both sides have been pretty similar with their ups and downs as they fight for a top two spot on the ladder.

They have been in great form as West has won two in a row with the Tigers only losing their first game in four weeks.

With how well these sides are playing right now this will definitely be a similar game to their round 1 matchup and will be a must watch game.
