Aresident of a Millicent aged care facility was found by staff after going missing for several hours on Monday.
The alarm was raised at Boneham Aged Care Services and a search by staff, police and the SES commenced after the elderly man had not returned from his customary early morning walk.
He was eventually located at 12.50pm about a kilometre away in a steep drain near Lossie Lane and Walker Street.
A BACS spokesperson said assistance was needed to remove him from the drain.
‘‘He is back in care and receiving appropriate treatment after an extended period out in the heat,” the spokesperson said.
“Thank you to our community for your efforts and to our staff who yet again went above and beyond to search for our beloved resident.”
