The excitement was palpable as monster trucks returned to the Mount Gambier Showgrounds on the weekend.
The 10 days leading up to the event were not ideal for promoters as rain disrupted the planning and transport of equipment.
But fortunately the weather held off over the two days when the trucks were in action.
Event organiser Troy Garcia said the preparation did not go to plan, but was pleased with the spectacle delivered for the fans.
“The lead up to the event was not in our favour due to the rain, but we did what we could do to put on a show for the crowd,” he said.
“It stopped us trying to plan and do work on the trucks before the show.
“Also, the motocross stunt bike was cancelled due to safety concerns which was out of our control.
“I am pleased the local crowd was happy with the show.
“It does take a lot of effort from my crew to put this on.”
With an estimated crowd of around 500 people action got under way with Benny the stunt clown doing his tricks on various trucks and motorbikes and even crashing through a caravan.
Then it was time to amp up the crowd and it did not disappoint with one vehicle crashing through a fiery wrecked car, followed by a bit of rally bumping racing between a few cars.
Psycho Sam also put on a show with a stop and roll display and at times got stuck and had to be pushed back over the right way.
The action the large crowd wanted to see were the monster trucks and two of them put on a high jumping, mudslinging, wheel standing, high octane show.
