Sitting Liberal MP for MacKillop Nick McBride has reached out to the 3000 “new” voters in his vast electorate.

Mr McBride, pictured above, said the boundary for the MacKillop electorate will increase at the March 19 State election.

“The changes mean that people living in the Southern Mallee District Council, and the entire Coorong District Council will now be part of MacKillop,” Mr McBride said.

“My office has been busy sending out more than 3000 letters, welcoming these constituents to the expanded electorate.”

Mr McBride entered the House of Assembly at the 2018 election following the retirement of one-time Deputy Liberal leader Mitch Williams after 18 years in office.

The Conmurra grazier faced five challengers at the poll including Richard Bateman, of the Australian Conservatives.

This party has since folded while Mr Bateman has sold his Furner farm and become the brother-in-law of Mr McBride.

The only other announced candidate in MacKillop to date is Tintinara farmer Jonathan Pietzsch who is standing for the National Party.

The Greens and the Labor Party have both announced candidates in many other seats.
