Naracoorte turns on best show by a country mile

The Naracoorte Show has been hosted in a splendid fashion boasting its strongest crowd numbers since the 150th show in 2013.

Naracoorte Pastoral and Agricultural Society secretary Amanda Lock said the community had rallied around the event.

“On Saturday which was show day we had over 2500 people attend the show with over 1800 entries,” she said.

“It was really great to see the community out and about after being restricted for so long with so many things.

“It took the pressure off to do something traditional and sort of normal in the crazy and unpredictable world we live in.”

Mrs Lock said the family fun events included a rock climbing wall for the kids, a country music band, stunt juggler, whip cracking and native animals courtesy of Animals Anonymous.

“It was probably one of the bigger cattle shows we have had for a while since a lot of the other shows have had to cancel,” she said.

“The Naracoorte P&A Society would like to thank their diamond sponsors Bull Brothers Earthmoving, Trans Australian Livestock, Top Mark Machinery, Elders in Naracoorte and Teys Australia,” she said.

“We would also like to thank the Naracoorte and Lucindale council who supported us with all the COVID-19 equipment we needed.

“We are really glad that it all came together, and everyone enjoyed it, and we are looking forward to next year.

“While it was challenging it can be done and I just hope it gives some other events in the area confidence they can go ahead.”
