New Anglican minister out and about

Avariety of experiences is coming the way of the new minister who has led Anglican congregations at Millicent, Penola, Kalangadoo, Robe and Kingston since November.

The Reverend Wayne Landford recently baptised a visiting infant from interstate whose great grandparents were married in St Michael and All Angels Church in Millicent over 60 years ago.

As well as the customary Sunday and mid-week church services, administrative tasks, preparing sermons and visiting parishioners and others in need, Reverend Wayne has been calling regularly at aged care homes.

They include the Pinchunga Hostel attached to the Penola War Memorial Hospital and Lighthouse Lodge which is part of the Kingston Soldiers Memorial Hospital.

Reverend Wayne has also been leading monthly services in the Diva Room at Boneham Aged Care Services in Millicent.

At the last service, there were 20 worshippers in attendance from various denominations and afternoon tea followed.

The Bible lesson was read by 92-year-old Pat Richardson who was an Anglican Church pastoral assistant and parish councillor prior to retirement.

The aged care facility regularly hosts church services from the various church denominations.
