Homegrown luxury accessories label Ashlee Lauren has discovered the grass is greener after participating in the Victoria Racing Club’s Myer Fashions on your Front Lawn and showcasing the labels latest creations.
Owner of the Limestone Coast label, Ashlee Kalantarian (pictured) said it was the brand’s second year partnering with Myer after taking part in the Victoria Racing Club’s Myer Fashions on the Field in 2019.
The new spring collection will soon be lining shelves in new locations Rundle Mall and Pacific Fair as well as restocking in Melbourne City and Chadstone stores.
“It feels good to branch out and continue to broaden our horizons,” Mrs Kalantarian said.
“We have recently expanded into earrings and perfume which has opened up a larger customer base.”
The spring collection will feature colours of yellow and navy, a vivid contrast to the brand’s usual soft colours of peach and pink.
“We are launching the new photoshoots and products on our website and hoping to have an event on Melbourne Cup Day featuring a big display of the new collection,” Mrs Kalantarian said.
“You will also see my headpieces on commentators from both Channel 10 and Channel 7 this year for all race days.”
Mrs Kalantarian said she would not be in the position she was without the support of the local Mount Gambier community.
“When we had a launch of our perfume in August last year when COVID was touch and go, the community showed up and supported me as they have done previously with events and fundraising,” she said.
“They are the ones that helped me get to New York Fashion Week in 2017 with a local fundraiser and Kickstarter campaign which is how the business really took off.
“My success definitely has a lot to do with the community and it is amazing to see what can be achieved from a small town.”
