New office contract goes back to council

A major step in the construction of Millicent’s proposed $5.5m civic office is set to be taken tonight when Wattle Range Council holds its October monthly meeting.

Council staff have been working to finalise the contract with Mount Gambier’s Chapman Herbert Architects Pty Ltd for the provision of architectural services.

A confidential report seeking council endorsement on the architectural fee proposal for the detailed design phase as well as contract administration has been presented for council’s deliberation as a separate item on the agenda.

According to council staff, they have also approached the subconsultants registered on the Local Government Association Vendor Panel and are enquiring about their fees and capacity to deliver within timeframes.

A decision to enter into an agreement with the proposed subconsultants will be made at the staff level.

The lodgement of the planning application for the proposed North Terrace project is planned for this month.
