Paige Carter (nee Primmer) at just 23 years old created history in Saturday’s Mount Gambier Netball Association preliminary final being the first player for Saints Netball Club to reach the 350 game milestone.

Carter started playing netball at the age of seven, but did not join the Saints until its inaugural season in 2007 two years later in the Under 11’s.

In 2008 Carter was a key part of the 13 and Under C premiership team by winning the club best and fairest and league runner-up.

She remained in the 13 and Under grade across the next two years, being selected in the MGNA squads and winning the A’s flag.

Carter stepped up to 15 and Under A Grade in 2011 and celebrated her 100th game by claiming another premiership.

At the age of 14 she made her seniors debut in the A2 team while also securing back-to-back 15 and Under A premierships.

The 2013 season showcased Carters’ A Grade debut playing alongside her mother Sam and sister Rhiannon, where they won a premiership together.

Carter reached Under 17’s and endured a second consecutive juniors grand final defeat, while she stayed in the A Grade team which bowed out in the preliminary final.

After three years in the 17 and Under team she won the club best and fairest award and was runner up at league level.

Carter continued her progression in the top team in 2016, when she was named as runner-up best and fairest for her team after losing another decider.

The 2017 season was an exciting time for her being a member of the A Grade premiership team, alongside her mother and sister.

She was named the club’s best in finals, selected in the MGNA team of the year as a goalie, coached the 17 and Under team and was awarded life membership at the Saints.

Carter’s endured another A Grade grand final defeat in 2018, but remained a top performer across the competition and brought up the 300-game milestone.

She was also a member of the Saints committee.

Last year Carter stepped up to take on the role of Saints Netball Club president.

Unfortunately, she had a lot to deal with and due to COVID-19 the club did not participate in the 2020 winter season.

This season Carter and the Saints returned to the court after the birth of her daughter Scarlett in October 2020.

Carter continues to lead the A Grade team on the court and is participating in another finals series during her second year as club president.
