The Millicent Lions Club has recently welcomed a new president for the coming 12 months.

Richard North took over the reins from 2021/22 president Trevor Waring at the annual changeover dinner.

The induction of Mr North and his board was overseen by past president Garry Davis OAM.

Mr North and his family moved to Millicent over 20 years ago and he is the manager of the Nutrien Ag Solutions stock and station agency.

The Millicent Lions Club received its charter on October 10, 1964 and is now Millicent’s second oldest service club.

Among the onlookers were the local representatives of the three tiers of government: Member for MacKillop Nick McBride, Member for Barker Tony Pasin and Wattle Range Mayor and past Millicent Lions Club president Des Noll.

“The evening shared good fellowship and true community spirit,” Mr Pasin said.

Meanwhile, at another recent function, Lions Club of Wattle Range Lioness charter president Joan Lucas has handed over the gong and gavel, charter and president’s pin to new president Yvonne Van Vlemen.

Guiding Lion Beccy Field conducted the installation ceremony of the incoming board.

Guests for the evening were fellow Guiding Lion and Past District Governor Dave Thomas OAM and zone chairperson Margie Thomas.
