Wattle Range Council is back to full strength as newcomer Chris Brodie has been sworn as the new Riddoch Ward representative.
Other councillors, well-wishers, media and staff witnessed the swearing-in last week of the new elected member of Wattle Range Council.
The brief public ceremony in the entrance foyer of the Millicent War Memorial Civic and Arts Centre was conducted by council staff member and Justice of the Peace Elaine Wilson-Bennett.
Mr Brodie signed an undertaking to discharge his duties conscientiously and to the best of his ability.
He was elected unopposed after Riddoch ward representative Rick Paltridge resigned in August.
Following these formalities, the November monthly council meeting was held with an agenda running to 210 pages and lasting 3.5 hours.
It has been council policy since its inception in 1997 to sit the councillors in alphabetical order of their surnames.
As a result, Cr Brodie was seated between Cr Dean Burrow and Cr Deb Agnew.
The new councillor made a number of contributions to the debates.
At one stage, Mayor Des Noll checked with Cr Brodie regarding the pace of the agenda.
