RSL Bowling Club Hams Day

RSL Bowling Club Hams Day

A strong contingent of 34 Pairs of Men’s bowlers were present on Sunday 5th December at the RSL Bowling Club for their re-programmed Annual Ham’s Day.

Bowlers from several clubs around the district entered this popular event and most would say that the conditions were very challenging due to frequent showers and strong winds throughout the day.

The event consisted of everyone playing 4 games of 10 ends in a 2 and walk format. The event was sponsored by SE Funerals with proprietor Grant Sims being a most welcome supporter of the event.

There was also a kind donation of 2 hams from Garry Burke and his family in memory of the late David Edwards, this was greatly appreciated by the Club and applauded by all competing at the event.

The winners of the event with 4 wins for the day were Michael Fox and Chris Waugh with an overall score of 109 and a half points.

Runners Up also with 4 wins for the day were a new pairing of Alby McIntyre and Leon Fox who accumulated 106 points.

Third with 3 wins for the day on 90 and a half points were Billy Bremner and Peter Clark.

Fourth also with 3 wins and with 88 and a half points were Tony Renzi and Peter Reppin and the final hams winners in fifth position and also on 3 wins and 88 and a half points were Graeme Smith and Steve Farrell.

The RSL Bowling Club thanked all the competitors for their participation in making this a very enjoyable day despite the conditions and hoped to see everyone back next year to again compete in this popular day.
