Nicole Thomas will notch up her 200th senior game for the Hatherleigh Netball Club as she takes the court against Port MacDonnell.
Joining the Eagles in 2003 as a member of the B Reserve side, Nicole won the club’s runner up best and fairest medal in 2003 and 2008, before returning to Millicent until the end of 2015.
Season 2016 saw Nic’s return to Hatherleigh playing in the B Grade, before taking the next step in 2019 in the role of B Grade coach.
Nic’s children Jasper, Kaden, Eva and Balin have all played the majority of their junior football and netball at Hatherleigh, all talented and driven. Jasper currently plays at West Gambier, Kaden for Millicent, Balin for the Eagles in the Junior Colts while Eva is enjoying a season away from the courts.
A highlight of Nic’s netball career to date was in 2023 as she finally savoured premiership glory as part of the victorious B Reserve side. Predominantly a mid-courter, Nic is known for bringing maximum effort to every game she plays, one to lead by example her ability to play any position across the court makes her a key player to her team’s success.
This year Nic has put her hand up as a playing co-coach of the B Reserve as they look to defend their premiership title, her experience and level head are a true asset as is her determination to win while getting the most out of herself and those around her.
Off the court and always keen to lend a hand Nicole has volunteered her time as a member of the Hatherleigh Ladies Committee over several years and more recently has joined the Netball Committee contributing her time to both the sponsorship and fundraising sub-committees and more recently as our first aid coordinator.
On behalf of the Hatherleigh Netball Club, congratulations Nic on reaching your 200 senior game milestone and thank you for your commitment and dedication to our club.
