No standing zone feedback sought

Wattle Range Council will seek community comment on a proposed no standing zone to be created on Williams Road, Millicent, in front of Boneham Aged Care Services.

It is thought that such a zone would improve public safety.

The decision to seek public feedback was taken at the March monthly council meeting.

Engineering services director Peter Halton told the meeting that BACS was compliant with the requirements for off-street parking.

A suggestion from the floor was to investigate the possibility of accessing the nearby car park of the Millicent Community Church.

Accommodation for aged persons on the BACS site began almost 60 years ago with the erection of three cottages.

The current number of aged residents is 110 while the staff numbers 130.
