Nurse steps into aged care management

Registered nurse Katherine McBride has joined the board of management of Boneham Aged Care Services in Millicent.

She lives on the family’s farming property at Conmurra Station and is the wife of Member for MacKillop Nick McBride.

Ms McBride has over 30 years of nursing experience in hospital and community settings.

Her new role involves oversight of a not-for-profit facility with over 300 residents and staff.

The appointment was confirmed at the Boneham annual general meeting last week.

For the second consecutive year, the forum was closed to the public owing to COVID protocols.

Boneham chief executive officer Michael Filsell said the board members were all continuing to provide their voluntary services for another year.

“We thank them for their continued support throughout these challenging times in aged care,” Mr Filsell said.

“Boneham is community-owned and our connections to community through our board keep us grounded and supported within the Millicent region.”
