Nurse takes on extra duties

Senior Millicent nurse Michelle Galli now holds a key regional health role.

Formerly the long-serving Millicent Hospital clinical services coordinator, Ms Galli has been appointed as the regional quality, risk and safety coordinator.

Her work takes her across all Limestone Coast Local Health Network sites.

Ms Galli recently was the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Millicent and Surrounding Areas Health Support Group.

One of Ms Galli’s responsibilities is as a member of the clinical deterioration committee.

This a regional group that looks at policies and procedures surrounding diagnosing and treating clinical deterioration.

There are patients who, despite care, continue to get worse and require higher levels of care.

This group meets monthly to review processes and specific instances in order to make improvements to patient care.

The MASH Group is looking forward to being the community representative that attends these meetings.

Meanwhile, the MASH Group executive recently met with Limestone Coast Local Health Network chief executive Ngaire Buchanan, discussing the importance of the Millicent and District Hospital and Health Service Plan 2020 – 2023 implementation and the need to communicate with local communities.
