The Mount Gambier Pioneers have locked in a naming rights sponsor – with OneFortyOne again committing to the club’s women’s team.
The Pioneers, who are the only Mount Gambier sporting team to play in a national competition, has welcomed the commitment.
Pioneers president Tom Kosch said the club was committed to the Mount Gambier community and, in turn, was wonderfully supported by many local businesses, large and small.
“One of the strongest supporters is OneFortyOne, who have commenced their fifth year as naming rights sponsor for the Pioneers women’s team,” he said.
“OneFortyOne are excited by the five-year milestone but equally excited and proud of the progress of the women’s program and the growing support of the team.”
OneFortyOne Jubilee Sawmill General Manager Nigel Boyd was delighted to see new faces in the 2023 squad but also excited to see some familiar faces hungry for a grand final win.
“Once again, we look forward to teaming up with the Pioneers,” he said.
“We are also thankful to the Pioneers Basketball Club for sharing our passion and commitment to the community by supporting programs like LifeChanger to be delivered at local schools.
“Good luck to Head Coach Matt and the team; we look forward to another awesome year.”
Kosch expressed the club’s appreciation for the continued commitment and support of OneFortyOne.
“The partnership between OneFortyOne and our club has been pivotal in the in the establishment and growth of our women’s program,” he said.
“As one of the region’s biggest employers, OneFortyOne and the Pioneers share values that encourage opportunity and inclusion.
“I know from speaking with Nigel Boyd and his management team they are hugely proud of their connection with our basketball club and play their part in directly supporting the pathway for young women within the sport.
“We thank OneFortyOne for their continued support of our basketball club and look forward to representing their business and our town wherever we travel in 2023.”
The Mount Gambier Pioneers will take to the court at their new home at Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre this Friday night, with tickets now available for purchase.
