Operating theatres get upgrade

Design works costing $40,000 are under way at Millicent and District Hospital with a view to its operating theatres being upgraded to meet higher nationwide sterilisation standards.

Health Minister Chris Picton told State Parliament on Tuesday the Millicent theatres were currently in use three days per week and a possible upgrade would depend on the outcome of the budgetary process.

Minister Picton was responding to a query from Independent MacKillop MP Nick McBride.

Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll told his council at their meeting on Tuesday that Mr McBride would be raising the matter in the House of Assembly.
