Numerous Limestone Coast national parks are temporarily closed to the public and will reopen at 6am on Saturday (September 17).
The closure began at 6pm on Sunday and is for the sake of public safety while a pest animal control program is carried out.
A similar closure will apply from October 16-22.
There is speculation in the community the two temporary closures are related to the aerial shooting of feral deer.
The Department of Environment and Water has been approached for comment.
