Mount Gambier is set to host an action packed racing weekend later this month as Round 1 of the Pedal Prix Adelaide University Australian HPV Super Series hits town.

The action will take place at McNamara Park on March 29.

The popular event is back for another year as schools and racing teams go head to head on the track in their velomobiles.

The season consists of six races with all being different durations.

The Mount Gambier and one of the Tailem Bend races will be eight hours while Adelaide, Busselton and the other Tailem Bend race will be only six hours, with the competition culminating at Murray Bridge in September with a 24 hour event.

Last year’s race at McNamara Park proved a huge success with 78 trikes racing on the track.

This year is set to be even bigger with 91 entries registered for the Mount Gambier race.

To kick off the event there will be a season launch for the 2025 season, being held on the Friday before the race.

The launch will showcase the new Adelaide University branding for Pedal Prix, a display of the new eight hour event trophy, trikes from school and community teams as well as an opportunity to sit and drive in a trike.
