Penola is getting ready for eight well-known locals to (almost) bare all to raise money for a great cause at the Penola Sports Club next month.
Event organiser Kate Palm said the (almost) Full Monty event will raise funds for the Penola/ Coonawarra Wellbeing Sub-Fund on behalf of the Stand Like Stone Foundation.
“All the money raised from it goes straight back into the community of Penola/Coonawarra for any grants, sponsorships, things like that,” Ms Palm said.
“The brave participants are all very familiar faces who are heavily involved in the Penola community. “They’re all so amazing, they have just taken to it and are doing really well with it.”
Ms Palm, who is representing Penola/Coonawarra in Swinging with the Stars this year, said she wanted to do something different and involve a lot of people. “I just thought it could be a lot of fun for everyone,” she said.
On the night, there will be music by DJ Tommy Ags so people can hit the dance floor and items up for grabs in live and silent auctions. Ms Palm said the word has spread, local businesses are showing their support and ticket sales are looking good.
“I’m really excited about it, I think it’ll be a really good night,” she said. Tickets are $30 and are available at the TDC office, or call 0438 339 729 to book. The event will start at 7:30pm on Saturday, May 8 and tickets include a drink on arrival and nibbles.
