Wattle Range Council has endorsed the Penola Town Centre Draft Concept Design for public consultation. Members of the community, key stakeholders and local businesses are being encouraged to provide feedback on the concept plan which will assist Wax Design in creating the final concept design documents.
Mayor Des Noll said the aim of the Penola Town Centre Draft Concept Design was to provide a roadmap for the town centre, ensuring future actions, proposed developments, public and private investments, as well as capital works contribute to achieving the vision for Penola.
Mayor Noll said it had been developed by Wax Design through consultation, with council to use the final set of documents to develop shovel ready projects for future budgets and grant opportunities. “The Penola community has provided significant input in the concept design by providing feedback in the form of surveys and attending community design workshops,” he said.
“Community feedback has been an integral part of this project and I thank everyone who has provided their input. I encourage the community to read the concept design report, attend the community presentation and complete the survey.”
To assist with the consultation, a survey has been developed to gather constructive feedback on the draft. Wax Design will also host a one-hour community presentation on Thursday, March 4 in the John Shaw Neilson Room of the Penola Visitor Information Centre at 5:30pm.
A question and answer session will follow the presentation. Community members are asked to book online to attend the presentation using the link www.eventbrite.com.au/e/penola-draft-concept-design-community-presentation-tickets-140022863153 or by contacting council on 8733 0900.
