Photographic exhibition returns

The annual Wattle Range Council Photographic Exhibition will return to its traditional format in 2022 after two COVID-affected years.

Photographs in hard copy measuring 8” x12” are now being accepted at the Millicent Library.

Entries close on September 10 with all anticipating another exciting exhibition.

The prize winners will be announced on the afternoon of September 18 at the Millicent Gallery.

It is a remarkable year for the Millicent Gallery as it was opened 30 years ago.

In the past two years, only digital images were accepted for the annual Wattle Range Council Photographic Exhibition and scaled-back award presentations were held.

Held annually, the exhibition captures the vibrancy and diversity of the Wattle Range region and has proven to be a great opportunity for photographers to exhibit their images, demonstrated by the number of entries in previous years.

Since its inception in 2007, the photographic exhibition has developed to become a premier photographic exhibition in South Australia.

As in previous years the photographs entered will once again be the basis for the highly sought-after Wattle Range calendar.

The winning photographs are represented in the calendar and many photographs are also featured in council publications, promotional materials, signs and town banners.

There are 11 categories up for grabs, including a youth award, drone image, mayoral prize and Lake McIntyre imagery.
