Pioneer confirmed

The OneFortyOne Pioneers 2024 roster continues to be strengthened, with local Keryl Ousey re-signing for the coming NBL1 South season.

A 188cm Centre, Ousey has played 46 games in the NBL1 South competition with seasons with the Pioneers in 2021 and 2023, and the Sandringham Sabres in 2022 whilst studying in Melbourne.

Twenty-one year old Ousey will be returning to the Pioneers after a successful season in Canada, where she is currently playing for the Guelph Gryphons.

She had a season high of 16 points in a late December game and has been increasing her court time as the season progresses.

She is expected to arrive back in Mount Gambier in mid to late April.

Head Coach Matt Sutton is excited to have Ousey return to his roster for the 2024 season.

“‘Having Keryl back during her break from study over in Canada is great for us; she gives us much needed size and is a player who is very familiar with the way we play,” he said.

“Keryl is a great person and has made further strides in her game over in Canada, we look forward to having her back.”

The Pioneers NBL1 Season will commence for the Pioneers women’s and men’s teams on the road on April 6, when they meet Sandringham Sabres, before returning to Wulanda for their season’s first home game on Friday, April 13.
