Police nab electric scooter rider

Aman has been reported for traffic offences in Mount Gambier.


About 9.50am on Saturday Mount Gambier police stopped an electric scooter on Union Street.


Police spoke with the rider, a 49-year-old man from Mount Gambier, who submitted to a drug test which showed a positive indication.


The man was expiated for riding a vehicle without ministerial approval and drug driving. 


Meanwhile, adrink driver was caught three times over the limit in Mount Gambier on the weekend.


Just after 3am on Sunday police were on Arbor Street when they stopped a black Honda sedan and submitted the driver to a breath test.


The 27-year-old driver returned a positive result of 0.185, over three times the legal limit.


The man was reported for drink driving and issued a 12 month loss of licence.


He will be summonsed to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court at a later date.
