The Millicent Football Netball Club has elevated one of its favourite sons to the presidency for the coming 12 months.
Premiership player and past coach Steve Duldig (pictured in a ruck contest with West Gambier’s Nick Allen) will oversee the Saints in their bid to climb again to the peak of the premiership ladder.
He will be joined in this task by new coach Jacob Carger.
The Saints held their annual general meeting at McLaughlin Park on Monday night.
Joel Redman relinquished the presidency after several successful seasons across both codes and all grades.
Duldig has been a devoted clubman throughout his senior career and clocked up hundreds of games in a red, black and white jumper until a serious mid-season knee injury.
Numerous representative honours have come the way of the ruckman/forward who works as a director with Millicent accountancy firm Turner Duldig Hamilton.
In addition to being a past captain and playing coach of the Saints, Duldig has also represented the Murray South East zone, Western Border and SA Country teams with distinction.
Duldig has also been a cricketer of note with the Millicent and District Cricket Association.
His younger brother Matt is an ex-Saint, his mother Tracie and late father Brian were awarded life membership of the Millicent Football Netball Club and wife Lisa is a premiership-winning A Grade playing coach of the Saints’ netballers.
Matt retired after decorated career in the SANFL at Sturt and Glenelg and is a senior staffer with the SANFL in Adelaide.
