Past glories of grand finals will be recalled at the Glencoe Football Oval on July 31 when the Murphies welcome Robe and also host their annual premiership reunion day.
Due to COVID-19, the club was unable to hold its regular season or Premiership Reunion Day in 2020 and so, will be celebrating Premierships that have a significant anniversary from both 2020 and 2021.
In all, the Murphies will be celebrating nine grand final wins in the two senior and two underage grades dating back to the 1955 A Grade Premiership when Glencoe 10-11 (71) defeated Tarpeena 8-21 (69).
Murphies spokesman Craig Childs said the Glencoe Football Club invites everyone involved and wants as many players, coaches and officials as possible from these teams at Glencoe on that day.
“To RSVP, put in an apology or find out further information, please contact me on 0429 263 696,” he said.
“We cannot wait to see our Premiership Heroes, hear their tales of years past and enjoy a wonderful day.” Among the attendees will be members of the 1991 A Grade premiership team who will be marking 30 years since their success over Nangwarry at Tarpeena.
