Finals A – North Gambier v Mundulla Preliminary

North Gambier and Mundulla will face off in Millicent on Sunday for the remaining spot in the grand final of the Limestone Coast Women’s Football League.

Both sides had very different games last week with Mundulla coming away with a big win over Penola in the elimination final while North came up short against Kybybolite in the qualifying final.

These sides faced off in round seven with North winning by 19 points.

In that match Mundulla started slow, picked it up in the third term but could not come away with the points in the final quarter.

Heading into this game Mundulla should be feeling pretty good after their 109 point win over Penola.

North will have to make some big improvements from last week’s performance.

After going goalless in the opening term North then played catch following the costless quarter that resulted in Kyby building a big lead.

They cannot afford to have another goalless quarter especially against a side like Mundulla.

With a lot on the line this will definitely be a competitive match that will come down to the wire.

Finals B – Millicent v Casterton Sandford Preliminary

Millicent will host Casterton Sandford on Sunday in the Preliminary B finals.

After facing elimination last week the Cats stood strong and came away with a 19 point win over South in Nangwarry.

Millicent on the other hand did not have their best game, falling to Kongorong by 50 points.

The Saints have gotten the better of the Cats this season as these sides last met in round three with Millicent winning by 18 on their home deck under lights.

Going into this game the Cats have not been in the best form, losing four out of their last five while the Saints have only won two from their last five outings.

This match will be an extra special one to win for the Cats as with the grand final being held in Casterton they will be keen to have the opportunity to play on their home deck.

Under 16

The stage is set for Hatherleigh and North Gambier to face off this Sunday in the under 16 grand final at McLaughlin Park in Millicent.

Both sides have been dominant all season with the Eagles going undefeated while the Tigers have only suffered one loss which came at the hands of Hatherleigh.

In that game the Eagles won by 26 points back in round four.

This will be a high scoring match with both teams featuring some great goal scorers.

The Eagles have Amber Chester who led the league in goals with 21 along with Isabelle Wilson who has kicked 15 and Livvi Faulkner with 10.

North has league best and fairest Jenna Baron who slotted 19 and Layla McPherson who kicked 10.

With both of these sides having high powered attacks this match should be exciting and competitive.
