Alast-minute surge of rain tipped the region over its May monthly average.

Up until May 25, Mount Gambier had only recorded 45mm of rain for the month.

This was well below the long-term monthly average of 73.8mm.

However a burst of wet weather in the last week of autumn bumped the figures up to 86.4mm of rain for the month.

The average rainfall average to May sits at 216mm, and in 2022 the region has recorded 167.4mm, compared with 190.6mm in 2021.
