Red carpet rolls out for Paralympians

Australian Paralympic gold medallists Jed Altschwager and Nikki Ayers had the red carpet rolled out for them at Beachport on Saturday night.

The rowers were at the Beachport Hotel for an informal meet and greet.

With gold medals in hand, they shared their experiences which led them three months ago to the top of the podium in Paris, France.

Well-wishers were asked to wear green and gold in salute to their achievements.

Among those present was local identity Sharon Cox who shared this photo on social media.

Jed was born in Millicent and has many kin across the South East region owing to his family ties with the Altschwager, Reilly, Prouse and Mitchell clans.
