Red Cross staff grows

Red Cross volunteers across the region now have a new staff member to support their endeavours.

Belinda Anderson (pictured) has recently started at the Mount Gambier office in the role of community support officer and volunteer engagement officer. Limestone Coast Red Cross regional services manager David Walshaw said she succeeded long serving and well-respected staff member Raelene Monger.

“Before starting with us, Ms Anderson was a community engagement facilitator for Mission Australia where she built community capacity for people with a disability, their families and supporters to increase their access to community services and understand the National Disability Insurance Scheme,” Mr Walshaw said.

“Ms Anderson comes to us with remote area experience such as Mount Isa and brings to the role, great qualifications and an insight into engaging younger people and people with disabilities into the volunteer space which can only benefit Red Cross moving forward.

“She is also very active in the local community, participating in and creating opportunities for vulnerable people to be engaged more fully in activities of daily activities.”
