There was a strong response to the annual Wattle Range Council Photographic Exhibition with 328 entries, 53 photographers entering and 29 new photographers.
The official opening on Sunday at the Millicent Gallery attracted 60 exhibitors and other interested persons.
As Mayor Des Noll and the judges could not be present, the winners were announced by Millicent Library and Gallery Manager Janice Nitschke.
She said the competition began around 15 years ago as a way of sourcing photographs for the annual council calendar.
Ms Nitschke said library staff had to approach photographers for their pictures in the first year but a different situation now applied.
“What an amazing calendar we will have in 2023 and all entries are worthy of winning a place, “Ms Nitschke said.
“Thank you to all the entrants and the judges for your support, the volunteers for hanging some of the entries and my staff.”
All entries are displayed in either hard copy or on video screens
Furner photographer and past winner Mary Whitehead won the black and white section and claimed first place in the landscape category.
Other winners were Tahlia Kirkland (business and industry), Hugh Manningdale (drone), Janet Crowe (Lake McIntyre), Monique McGregor (fauna), Alex Window (people and portrait), Liam Mills (sport and leisure), Lily Kain (youth) and Phil DeKoning.
