Millicent has been abuzz in recent days with rumours of an instant millionaire due to a win by a local resident in a X-lotto syndicate.

However, SA Lotteries spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer has told The SE Voice that she was unaware of any recent winner with a link to Millicent.

There was an anonymous winner of $1m in a March 17 lotto draw with the winning ticket purchased from a Mount Barker newsagency in the Adelaide Hills.

Millicent’s record prize of $2.4m was won almost five years ago in April 2016.

An unidentified person purchased a Keno ticket at the Millicent Newsagency.
